Adrienne Advances to State

As the season ends, Adrienne Latimer had an incredible experience at the state competition for her hip-hop solo. She placed 17th out of 40 in the solo category and 6th in her pool, showing off her impressive skills. The event was held at the BOS Center in Springfield, IL, and she performed a Joker-themed routine that added a unique flair to her performance. It was a memorable way to wrap up the season, showcasing all of her hard work and talent!

Assistant Coach Karleigh Mason said, “With the season coming to an end, I can’t help but look back on the hard work the girls put into their performances. After such a stressful precious year with seniors, solos, and new team members, I am nothing but grateful and amazed by not just the physical but the mental compassion that moves them as a team! Each year we learn, grow, and perform with a strong hard-working athletic mentality and I couldn’t be more thankful!”

Head Coach Shelley Goddard reflected, “Sad and bittersweet. This team has been so fun to coach this year. We truly became a dance family. The year did not end the way we had hoped but we are so proud of them. Of the last few teams I have coached, this team definitely deserved more than what they received. They put everything they had on the floor and left it there. It may not have been enough for the judges but as coaches we could not ask any more of them. As I told them, sometimes you can do everything right and nothing goes your way. Keep doing right!!! This team will be missed.”

For Adrienne specifically Coach Shelley said, “I feel like Adrienne came back to the team as a new person. She was more confident in herself and took more of a leadership role. She came up with her solo idea and worked so hard for her state qualification. She put in the extra work and time to perfect it. She did amazing at the state and came very close to advancing. She was a joy to watch. Sad to see our seniors leave. It’s a hard one for the coaches.”
