The ACES Regional Academic Challenge Competition was held at Southwestern Illinois College on February 7th. Dupo High School took an academic team of 14 students to compete against the top students from all other area schools. Team members are nominated by faculty members and Mrs. Walsh coordinates assembling the team as the team coach. Mrs. Walsh said, “The team did a great job at regionals, however we did not secure a 1st or 2nd place spot to move onto the sectional competition.” They did have some students that earned individual awards. The following students were recognized for their achievement at the regional competition:
Lily McMannis - 3rd Place, Physics
Chase Koppenhofer - 2nd Place, Computer Science
Greg Ramires - 4th Place, Physics
Kaitlyn Roberts - 4th Place, Chemistry
Those individuals that earn a 1st or 2nd place position get to advance to the sectional competition held at SWIC on March 7th, 2025. Congratulations to Chase Koppenhofer for advancing!
