Bowlers Shine

The high school bowling team is off to a great start this year! The JV boys, varsity boys, and JV girls teams, both put on impressive victories against Steeleville on Jan. 13th along with celebrating Senior night. This year there are two senior bowlers on the team, Bree Duck and Casey Durham who have both shown dedication and hard work. On January 11th, the boys’ bowling teams competed in a highly competitive tournament which was hosted by O’Fallon High School. At the tournament were 28 teams and at least 25 different schools, within and out of our conference. At this tournament a new element was introduced called the Baker Games Format, where team members bowl alternating frames. The boys were resilient and positive throughout the tournament earning an average 163.625, but fell short of advancing to the final round. Currently the boys team is ranked 3rd in our division and the girls 4th. Regionals are also coming up for the boys on Friday and Conference to follow on Tuesday. The bowling team is continuing to keep strong and put in the hard work!
