The Esports team is off to a great start this year! The Rocket League team traveled to Northern Illinois University on November 23rd to win 5th place in the state. Gregory Ramires, Mason Reyes, Gavin Merhmann and Jade “Kodi” Hill were the students that represented our school for the win. 7th grader Landon Johnston also traveled with the team as the team manager. They defeated Delavan High School and St. Anne to become the fifth place team. Their next IHSA tournament will take place in April when the Overwatch 2 and Apex Legends teams begin their seasons. In the future, the Esports team is also considering hosting Fortnite, Rocket League, and Overwatch 2 events for a possible streaming channel on Twitch. Mr. Tidball says, “it is still in the works” and it could lead to added funds to help the team purchase new equipment and games.
