Coach Lawrence, now the head coach, has high hopes for the Dupo Baseball team this season. For being a younger group his expectations are set high, with hope of his upperclassman leading the way for the younger players. Coach Lawrence has a goal to beat the teams they couldn’t last year. Coach Lawrence says he’s “striving for perfection”. This year Dupo has five seniors returning from last year, Connor Ballard, Matthew Hofer, Kaleb McGlasson, Trenton Robert, and Ashton Stein. The boys won their first game against Rivers of Life, short-gaming them 10-0. Sophomore Deegan Prater threw five shutout innings while striking out 13 batters. The Tigers overall record is 1-2 this season and their next game is tomorrow at home against Marissa.
