Dupo High School
Cafeteria : Reminder to all high school students, we are to stay in the cafeteria the whole time for lunch. No one should leave through the cafe doors until the end of the 1st or 2nd lunch bell.
Juniors and Seniors: Prom and Post Prom tickets are now available in the office. Ticket sales will go until Friday, March 15th, but will increase in price March 8th. If you plan on bringing a date from outside the school, there will be a form you will need to take -that will be in the office- as well. If you have any questions, please talk to Mr. Hempen.
Student Council:
The hygiene drive will run from March 4th until March 15th. Certain classrooms will be offering extra credit for donations. Please see the flyers in the hallway for additional information.
Art : Congratulations to Aki Chairs, Kaleb R. Helberg, August Ross, and Brooke Butler. These student’s artwork will represent DUPO at the 2024 High School Art Exhibition at Schmidt Art Center located on Southwestern Illinois College Campus in Belleville, IL. Opening reception is Thursday, March 7 (6pm -8 pm). Thank you to all students who submitted their work for consideration.
Word of the Week: IDES OF MARCH
The 74th day in the Roman Calendar, corresponding to 15 March. It was marked by several religious observances and was a deadline for settling debts in Rome. In 44 BC, it became notorious as the date of the assassination of Julius Caesar, which made the Ides of March a turning point in Roman history.
