Volleyball Seniors

The Last Serve

By: Marley Lambert

The Dupo Volleyball team hosted Regionals on our own home court to end this year's season. A good way to end a rough season with injuries dispersed throughout. They faced off against the top seed in our region, Calhoun High School, a team who went 35-2 in the regular season. After a tough game, Calhoun came out on top bringing an end to our Lady Tigers season. When asked about their thoughts on the season, retiring Coach Brumit said, “We had a rough season due to many different injuries and illnesses.  We very rarely were able to use the same rotation and several players had to play in positions they weren't used to.  All of this is very difficult on the players but they were all super flexible and did their best in every game.”

She also mentioned how well their freshmen team did this year going with 8 wins and 2 losses and that they are only losing three seniors making for a pretty solid team next year. When the seniors were asked about their final season as a whole they said, “There were many fun memories and moments made that we will remember for a lifetime!  The Varsity team struggled, but put up a fight throughout the season! We all can’t wait to see what the next season holds for the Dupo Volleyball team.” Overall our Lady Tigers fought all season and never gave up despite anything thrown at them!
