The Race is ON!

The Dupo Cross Country team has been making big strides! At every meet they are achieving personal records. On September 16th, the team went to the SIUE campus to run. The course's terrain was 3 miles of all grass that included steep hills at each mile mark. Coach Mendoza announced on the bus ride home, “This was one of the toughest courses and you guys kicked butt! You guys have been putting in the work and it really shows!” The overall best time for the girls was 25:45 for Ashley Merrell, a Junior. The best boys time was 21:53 for Freshman Jastek Ross. The team came home feeling accomplished and satisfied with the results. Furthermore, the next meet they had was on September 23 at Freeburg HS. This course was quite easy and flat for the runners that day. The team stayed close together. Chase Koppenhofer had the fastest time in this race for a 21:40 and Noah Theurer followed seconds behind him. Jacob Beatte, Wyatt Brown, and Chase Koppenhofer all had season PRs. We are very proud of all of them. Their next meet is in Wesclin, on September 30th.
