Dr. White

Dupo, Illinois (July 11, 2024) - The Dupo Community Unit School District 196 Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Victoria White as the new Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2024. A letter from our new superintendent:

I am excited and honored to be the new Superintendent of Dupo School District 196 for the 2024-2025 school year. As long-time residents of Dupo, my husband and I have proudly raised our children in this district. The teachers and administration of Dupo School District have provided them with a solid foundation for achieving successful careers.

I have been an educator for over 26 years. My journey began as an elementary teacher for nine years and a principal in a previous district for ten years. In 2017, I was privileged to become the Bluffview Elementary Principal and Title Coordinator. Last year, I was given the opportunity to serve as the assistant superintendent. Being able to work in my town and give back to the community that I am a part of has been and will continue to be an invaluable experience.

My vision for our school district is to focus on student achievement, which is rooted in the belief that every student deserves a safe and engaging learning environment.  I am committed to working with the Dupo Board of Education, students, teachers, parents, administrators, and the community to ensure all our students reach their full potential.

Cultivating a positive climate is crucial to the success of all educational institutions.  This requires ongoing two-way communication, high expectations for all students and staff, increased academic rigor, family engagement, and accountability.  At the heart of our educational journey is the commitment to continuous improvement.  By identifying our core beliefs and mission, assessing the needs through data analysis, taking decisive action, and monitoring and reflecting on our successes, we are paving the way for increased academic and social outcomes for our students.

I am excited to have this opportunity to lead the Dupo School District. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with all stakeholders on our many successes and identifying new opportunities for our students.

Sincerely,

Dr. Victoria White
